WASILLA — The Wasilla Warriors scored a pair of unanswered goals to post the 2-1 nonconference victory over the Eagle River Wolves at the Brett Memorial Ice Arena on Friday.
Eric Marshall and Mike Edwards scored for Wasilla to help the Warriors earn the win in their 2008-09 season opener.
Chris Yaskus stopped 29 Eagle River shots to earn the win in the Warrior net.
Eagle River’s Paul Pickens scored midway through the first period to give the Wolves the early lead, but Marshall tied the game when he scored with 41 seconds left in the second period.
Jade Johnston and Chancie Hanson assisted on the play.
Midway through the third, Ryder Conroy and Trent Wohlers set up Edwards’ game-winning score.
