WASILLA — Wasilla outshot Eagle River 7-3 during the extra period, but had to settle for a 2-2 tie against the Wolves Friday night in Eagle River.
Eagle River goalie Ryan Gray made seven stops in overtime and 27 in the game to help preserve the tie. Aaron Campbell made 28 saves for the Warriors.
Dylan Harbour supplied the game-tying goal for Wasilla, finding the back of the net with 3:43 left in the second period. Alex Engan gave Wasilla an early lead with a power play tally at the 5:53 mark of the first.
Both of Eagle River’s goals came on special teams. Ty McEnerney scored on the power play. John Niemi added a shorthanded goal.
Wasilla has now skated to a tie in each of its first two games of the season. Last week, the Warriors tied Chugiak 3-3.
Wolverines edge Knights
South Anchorage skated to a 2-0 win over Colony Friday at the Menard Arena in Wasilla.
Connor Orr and Ryan Bailey scored for South. Colony goalie Cole Doss stopped 22 of 24 South shots.
In other action, South blanked Palmer 11-0 Wednesday at the MTA Events Center.
