Prep hoops: Colony girls sweep, boys swept on road

PALMER — The Colony girls’ basketball squad scored a pair of lopsided nonconference wins at Thunder Mountain over the weekend.

Colony beat the Knights 63-23 and 56-20 and back-to-back days in Juneau.

Host Thunder Mountain used work at the free throw line one night and overtime the next to score a pair of boys’ wins over Colony. Friday, the Falcons finished 20 of 26 from the stripe in a 60-51 win over Colony. Nolan Martin led the Knights with 17 points. Isaiah Neuner added 10.

The following day, Thunder Mountain slipped past Colony 50-48. The teams ended regulation tied at 45. Sullivan Menard led the Knights with 16. Martin added nine.
