DELTA — The Houston Hawks girls squad earned a fourth-place finish in the Dean Cummings Memorial at Delta High School Saturday.
Kimberly Quincy led Houston with a game-high 18 points during a 46-18 win over Eielson in the fourth-place game. Aspen Ruth added eight in the victory.
The Houston boys finished seventh in the tournament, posting a 52-7 win over Redington during the final day. Jens Knutson recorded a game-best 16 points for the Hawks. Jaiden Straughn led the Huskies with five.
Wasilla Lake scores win
WASILLA — Senior guard Vinny Huber scored 14 points to lead Wasilla Lake Christian to a 64-38 boys’ basketball win over Kodiak ESS Friday in Wasilla.
Junior guard Brody Neufeld added 13 points for the Rams, and sophomore guard Jordan Auldridge chipped in 12.
Wasilla C team wins varsity tournament
NIKOLAEVSK — The Wasilla C team won the girls bracket of the Conoco Phillips Warrior Rumble in Nikolaevsk.
The Warriors beat Alak 50-40 in the title game. The Wasilla C team girls also beat Nenana 49-43 the day before.
Wasilla’s Cheyenne Green, Colleen Haan and Breann Drorbaugh were each named all-tournament.
