PALMER — The Lathrop Malemutes girls soccer squad was minutes away from posting its second tie during its three-day stay in the Valley.
But Tiana Lee had a different idea.
Lee, Palmer’s junior captain, scored with four minutes left in regulation to help Palmer earn a 1-0 nonconference win over the Malemutes Saturday at Palmer High School. Lee’s game-winner came off a corner kick and helped Palmer score its second win in three days. Palmer grabbed its first victory of the season, a 2-0 win over Grace, on April 14.
Earlier in the week, Lathrop tied Wasilla 1-1 and suffered a 7-1 loss to Colony.
In boys’ action, Lathrop blanked the Moose 3-0.
