PALMER - The Colony Knights scored a pair of soccer wins against Grace Christian at Colony High School on Tuesday.
The Colony boys improved to 6-0-1 winning a physical battle, 2-0, over the Grizzlies.
“It was hard fought,” Colony head coach Jeremy Johnson said. “A lot of play in the mid-field.”
Each team drew nine fouls in the infraction-filled game.
Colony senior Jarrod Carney scored in the seventh minute to give the Knights the 1-0 lead. Freshman Tim Jaronik added a score in the second half.
Senior keeper Ian Walton recorded five saves in the win.
Colony freshman Kara Larson scored twice in Colony's 3-0 girls soccer win over Grace. Fellow freshman April Bleicher added her team-high fifth goal of the year.
On Monday, senior Gerald Miller posted a hat trick to lead the Knights to a 7-0 boys soccer win over
Houston.
Bryan Tomlinson scored twice, while Jaronik and Kole Rappuhn added goals for CHS.
Senior Megan Pfile also recorded the hat trick in an 8-0 girls soccer win over the Hawks.
Larson, senior Keli Alcantra, senior Megan Kenley, sophomore Daniella Querin and freshman Tara Garrod also scored for CHS.
With the win the Knights improved to 3-2-2. After losing its first two games, Colony is 3-0-2 in its last five contests.
