PALMER — Even in tough losses, the Palmer Moose girls and boys soccer coaches continue to see positive growth this season.
Defending Northern Lights Champion Kenai posted a 3-0 girls’ soccer win over Palmer Saturday afternoon at Palmer High School. Despite the loss, Palmer head coach Harmony Chadwick was happy with her team’s play against the reigning conference champs.
“(I’m) very pleased with how we worked against one of the top teams in the region,” Chadwick said via text.
Palmer goalkeeper Desi Molina used her stellar play in net to help the Moose stay in the contest. Molina made 21 saves.
In boys’ action, Palmer kept Kenai scoreless for 60 minutes, but the Kards used a pair of goals during the final 20 minutes to notch a 2-0 win over Palmer.
SoHi sweeps Palmer girls, boys
Soldotna’s Abi Tuttle used a four-goal effort to lead the Stars to a 7-0 girls’ soccer victory over the Palmer Moose Friday at Palmer High School.
The Soldotna boys also blanked Palmer, posting a 4-0 win over the Moose. Three of SoHi’s four goals came in the first half.
Nikiski sweeps Houston
Nikiski took advantage of a late opportunity, and scored on a free kick to post a 1-0 girls' soccer win over Houston Saturday morning at Houston High School.
The Bulldogs followed with a 7-1 win over the Houston boys.
