ANCHORAGE - Devon Conroy scored in a second-straight game, and Trent Berberich posted his second consecutive shutout as Palmer notched a 2-0 win over Grace Christian at Anchorage Football Stadium on Tuesday.
Conroy, a senior striker, and Jerry Melin, a junior forward, each scored for Palmer (2-0-0).
Berberich, a senior goalkeeper, has not allowed a goal in his first two games of the season.
In girls action, Chelsea Beetch scored in the second half to give the Moose a 1-1 tie against the Grizzlies. Beetch sent a booming kick over the Grace keeper to put the Moose on the scoreboard.
“She's got a good kick,” Palmer head coach Brian Fish said. “She's a strong defensive midfielder. But she can strike the ball from that far out and be a threat.”
Palmer has now played to a tie in its first two games.
The Moose soccer squads host a pair of Peninsula opponents this weekend. Soldotna is at Machetanz Field on Friday. The girls play at 4 p.m., while the boys meet at 6 p.m.
