Prep soccer: Warriors, Knights sweep Grace

PALMER — Aleks Kvalheim earned her seventh shutout of the season in the Wasilla net to help the Warriors grab a 3-0 girls soccer nonconference victory over the Grace Christian Grizzlies Friday night in Anchorage.

Kamryn Broach, Nicole Cattlet and Abby Crawford each scored in the first half for the Warriors. Alexis Friesen led he Warriors with a pair of assists. Reese Sande also had an assist.

Wasilla completed the sweep over its former region rival with a 3-0 boys win. Eric Kolosov scored twice for Wasilla. Kyle Polis also scored.

Knights sweep Grizzlies

Martin Jones and Danny Vallejo each scored their first goal of the season to lead the Colony Knights to a 7-2 nonconference boys soccer win over Grace Christian Wednesday at Colony High School.

Noah Krozel added two goals in the victory. Eli Krozel, Mike Shower and Kyle Dearborn also scored. The Knights opened up with a 5-0 lead in the first half. Jones and Vallejo scored in the second half.

Gabby Wakaliuk scored twice to lead Colony to a 2-0 girls win over the Grizzlies. Bella Brown set up both goals. Wakaliuk had a goal in each half. Maddy Zmuda earned the shutout in the Knights net.

Colony boys beat West

The Colony Knights used five first-half goals to earn a 6-1 nonconference Division I win over West Anchorage Thursday night in Anchorage.

Kyle Dearborn scored a pair of goals to lead the Knights. Noah Krozel, Sean McMillan and Cade Johnstone also scored during the first 40 minutes. Sullivan Menard added a goal in the second half.

Moose split with Thunder Mountain

Manveer Singh and August Gravesen each scored to lead Palmer to a 2-1 boys nonconference win over Thunder Mountain Thursday night at Palmer High School.

The Falcons beat the Palmer girls 4-0.

Houston boys play to tie

The Houston Hawks played to a 1-1 tie against Nikiski Friday afternoon at Houston High School.
