ANCHORAGE - Wasilla striker Jordan Ingalls continued his assault on Northern Lights Conference competition scoring the lone goal in the Warriors' 1-0 win over Grace Christian at Anchorage Football Stadium on Thursday.
Ingalls, who scored twice in a 12-0 win over Houston on Tuesday, posted the goal in the 65th minute to power the Warriors to their sixth win in seven tries this season.
The senior now has 13 goals in seven games for the 6-0-1 Warriors.
With 15 minutes left in regulation, Ingalls took a corner kick from sophomore Aaron Sharrow and buried the ball in the Grace goal.
Although the Warriors were only able to pop a single shot in the back of the Grace net, Wasilla head coach Blake Livingston thought the Warriors were able to hold on to the momentum.
“We controlled a lot of the run of the play,” Livingston said.
Key to that, he said, was the play of senior sweeper Jeff Champion.
“Jeff played very well. He was a standout in the back,” Livingston said.
Goalkeeper Andreas Baltes scored his sixth shutout of the season. Baltes and the sturdy Warrior defense have only allowed one goal this season, a Colony indirect kick in the second game of the season.
“Our defense was definitely up to the task,” Livingston said.
The big adjustment for the Warriors came in the first half. The game marked the first time of the season the Valley squad had the opportunity to compete on the turf of AFS.
“It took us a while to adjust,” Livingston said.
This is the only match the Warriors are scheduled to play on the turf that is also the site of the state tournament.
The Warriors now head further south to face Homer tonight at 6 p.m., and Skyview Saturday at 5 p.m.

Grace trailed for only five minutes, notching the game-tying score at the 15-minute mark. The Grizzlies netted the game-winner at the 70th minute.
“It was a pretty even match,” Wasilla head coach Katie Broeder said. “A couple of bounces went their way.”
