FARIBANKS - Wasilla senior Anne Wesser struck out 17 hitters to help the Warriors salvage a 1-2 record on their Fairbanks road trip over the weekend with a 4-3 win over West Valley on Saturday.

Wesser fell one shy of her career high against the Wolfpack. She also notched double digits in strikeouts with 15 in a 5-3 loss to Lathrop.
“Anne pitched well for us,” Wasilla coach Sue Allen said.Allen said Wesser was a workhorse for the Warriors, starting all three games over the weekend.
“She pitched three full games in almost 24 hours,” Allen said.
Allen said she was happy to get a win against West Valley, but said she was disappointed the Warriors couldn't leave Fairbanks with a winning record.
“We'd have been real happy with two wins,” she said.
Wasilla is currently in third place in the Railbelt Conference. With the top four teams in the conference advancing to the state tournament, Allen said the Warriors' final games of the season next weekend against Palmer and Kodiak.
“They're games we've gotta take,” she said.
