Prep volleyball: Knights top Moose

PALMER — The Colony Knights (3-0) improved to 1-0 in Northern Lights Conference play with a 3-1 (25-17, 25-22, 22-25, 25-14) win over the Palmer Moose at Palmer High School on Tuesday.

Senior Allie Grazulis led the Knights with 13 kills and eight blocks in the win. Jackie Hamann added 18 digs and three aces, while Siobhan Johannsen posted 31 assists.

Jordan Venzke led the Moose with eight kills and 13 assists in the loss. Rashayne Zimmer collected 12 digs and 20 assists.

Palmer hosts East Anchorage tonight at 6:30 p.m. The Knights will compete in the Cordova Invitational at Cordova High School this weekend.

Wasilla 3, Houston 0

HOUSTON — The Wasilla Warriors (2-2) scored a 3-0 (25-20, 25-11, 25-13) win over the Houston Hawks at Houston High School on Tuesday.

Senior Jenna Johnson led the Warriors with 10 kills, 14 digs and seven aces in the win. Senior Sammy Becker added five kills, 10 digs and three aces.

Aryn Crane chipped in six kills.

The Warriors travel south this weekend and face Homer tonight and Skyview on Saturday afternoon.

The Hawks are competing in the West Valley Invitational in Fairbanks this weekend.
