PALMER -- Jesse Prins must be like butter, because he is on a roll
The 6-foot 7-inch forward has not only demonstrated his ability to bang around under the boards this season, but the junior has also shown that he can take a step outside and stroke the three.
Prins decided to bring both his inside and outside games to the court Thursday as he registered 18 points, nine rebounds and three blocked shots in Palmer's 76-52 nonconference victory over West at Palmer High.
Prins was on fire from beyond the arc, hitting six of seven shots from three-point range. Prins was 6-6 from the three-point range at one point.
"He was definately on fire," Palmer head coach Brandon Blake said of Prins. "It is nice when he can step outside and stroke that three. His versatility is certainly a threat."
Prins hit four of his six treys in the first half. Three of Prins three-pointers came during Palmer's 22-6 first quarter run. The Moose led 38-16 at the half.
The lopsided score allowed the Moose to clear their bench. Each player donning the Palmer blue and white saw action.
Prins led a group of four Moose in double-digit scoring. Stanley Ratcliff scored 16 points and Brandon Gaines and Kurtis Devon each chipped in 12 points.
James Maloney and Vonnie Williams each scored a team-high 11 points for West.
The Moose improved to 13-6 overall.
