Last year, a little special edition of our annual Progress magazine went out to the public, highlighting 25 of the amazing people we have here in the Mat-Su Borough, and based on the reaction, it really struck a chord with not just regular readers, but people all around the Mat-Su.
So it should be no surprise that the Mat-Su Frontiersman is gearing up for another special edition highlighting more of the great people doing wonderful things to make lives better for everyone who calls the Borough home.
A few people being highlighted this year include familiar names like Rick and Jeff Taylor of Taylor Fire, Isaac Smoldon a familiar face over at MyHouse, and Arthur Keyes, a name synonymous with agriculture here in the Valley. There are a few people whose names you may not recognize, such as AJ Seims, a creative force in local entertainment and theater, and Mark Lackey, the Executive Director for CCS Learning.
The idea is the brainchild of Frontiersman editor Jeremiah Bartz, who wanted to tell “good stories about good people.”
Many of the people featured this year were nominated by those we spotlighted in last year’s “25 in ‘25” Progress, while a few we’ve kept our watchful eyes on as we’ve reported on throughout the years.
Profiles 15 hits newsstands in March. See '25 in 25' here.
