Prospectus available for mountain guiding concessioners in Denali National Park and Preserve

DENALI PARK —The National Park Service intends to award up to six concession contracts for providing mountaineering guide services to the public within Denali National Park and Preserve.

The proposed contracts will have a term of Jan. 1, 2016, to Dec. 31, 2025. The solicitation, selection, and award of the concession contract will be conducted pursuant to 36 Code of Federal Regulations Part 51.

The written prospectus is available to interested applicants. It includes the business opportunity, proposal instructions, proposal package (with selection factors), draft contract and exhibits, and a draft operating plan. It is posted on the NPS Commercial Services website at: www.nps.gov/commercialservices/prospectuses.htm.

Hard copies of the prospectus will be mailed upon request for a cost recovery fee of $30. Completed applications must be received by the National Park Service by 4:00 p.m. Alaska Standard Time on January 16, 2015 at National Park Service, Alaska Regional Office, Division of Concessions Management, 240 West 5th Avenue #114, Anchorage, AK 99501.

The NPS will award concession contracts to two historical operators to provide the same kind of services that they were legally engaged in providing prior to January 1, 1979, pursuant to Section 1307 of the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act. These contracts are included in the six available. The historical operators are:

• National Outdoor Leadership School

(18 clients, West Buttress of Mt. McKinley + two mountaineering trips in the old park)

• Rainier Mountaineering

(23 clients, West Buttress of Mt. McKinley)
