Public can speak about king salmon outlook

PALMER — Those wanting a voice in the state Department of Fish and Game’s 2012 King Salmon Outlook plan will have a chance to weigh in next week.

The public is invited to a pair of presentations to review this season’s king salmon outlooks and management strategies for commercial and sport fisheries. One of those will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m., May 21 in Palmer at the Fish and Game office, 1800 Glenn Highway, Suite 2.

Biologists will present management strategies for the Northern Cook Inlet commercial king salmon fishery and in-river sport fisheries for the Susitna River drainage and Little Susitna River.

Another presentation will be held 6:30 to 8 p.m., May 23 in Kenai at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Building, where the presentation will focus on the Cook Inlet commercial fishery and in-river sport fisheries for the Kenai River.

For more information on the Valley presentation, contact Sam Ivey, sport fish area biologist, at 746-6300.
