The 49th State Street Rodders is putting on its annual Country Cutts Car Show at the Country Cutts salon in downtown Palmer Sunday, July 7 from 12 to 4 p.m.
The County Cutts Car Show will feature a wide variety of classic cars and other vehicles with prizes given out to participants. This event will also feature a local food truck, AK Best Gourmet Dogs that attendees can purchase food and beverages from.
“I'm always looking forward to it. At this point I'm just praying for good weather," County Cutts owner Stan Guthrie said.
Guthrie said this event has been going on for many years and he enjoys offering a summer activity to the Palmer community.
“It's a feel good thing,” Guthrie said. “It draws attention, and a lot of people get together and enjoy their time together.”
Guthrie said that he's considered an honorary member of the Street Rodders and he's always appreciated how fun and supportive they have been over the years.
“I think they're a great group," Guthrie said. “They've been together a long time. They seem to have a lot of comradery.”
According to 49th State Street Rodders secretary Eileen Grape, the County Cutts Car Show is a popular event that a lot of people look forward to.
“We usually have a big turnout," Grape said. “It's one of the favorites. “
Grape complimented Guthrie's generosity for always buying the trophies and prizes for this event.
“Stan is fantastic. He always has something to giveaway," Grape said.
Grape said the Street Rodders have had a great summer so far that's been brimming with car shows across the community. She said they have about 90 members that anxiously await this time of year.
“We live for the summer for our car shows," Grape said.
The 49th State Street Rodders is a local car club that welcomes anyone who's interested in classic cars and all vehicles in general. It’s known for being a laid back and welcoming group, and their motto is “Just havin’ fun.” All their events free to attend, and they're always accepting new members.
