There is a special meeting of the Wasilla City Council Dec. 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. to discuss Wasilla Area Seniors Inc. An agenda for this meeting has not been posted.
The next regular meeting is Dec. 13 at 6 p.m. An agenda for this meeting is not yet available. The council meets at city hall, 290 E. Herning Ave., unless otherwise noted.
Greater Wasilla Chamber of Commerce meets Tuesdays, noon to 1 p.m., for its weekly chamber membership lunch at Glacier Canyon Grill located inside Grand View Inn and Suites. This Tuesday, local nonprofit groups are guests of the chamber. The Dec. 14 meeting will feature Mat-Su Animal Control. There will be no chamber lunch Dec. 21 and 28. Big Lake Chamber meets the first and third Monday of the month at the Big Lake Family Restaurant at noon.
Greater Palmer Chamber of Commerce meets Wednesdays at the Palmer Moose Lodge at noon. The chamber is gearing up for Colony Christmas, Dec. 10-12, which includes a parade, triathlon, gingerbread house contest, cookie contest, craft fair and more. For more information, visit palmerchamber.org.
Palmer City Council meets at 231 W. Evergreen Ave. A special meeting of the council is at 6 p.m., Tuesday. On the agenda is a meeting of the city’s budget committee to discuss the 2011 budget. The next regular meeting of the council will be Dec. 14. An agenda for that meeting hasn’t been posted.
Meets the second Thursday of each month at 13878 W. Armstrong Road at 7 p.m. The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday.
Mat-Su Borough meetings held at 350 E. Dahlia Ave., Palmer. The assembly will meet Monday at noon for a joint session with the School Board Committee to discuss school issues. At 3 p.m., Monday, the assembly will have a joint meeting with the Municipality of Anchorage Assembly at the Eagle River Town Center, 12001 Business Blvd., Eagle River. The agenda includes business items on revenue sharing, how unfunded mandates impact municipal budgets, a Regional Transit Authority study and memorandum of agreement, Upper Cook Inlet Salmon and the M/V Susitna ferry.
The school board will next meet at 6 p.m., Dec. 14 in the upper library at Palmer High School. This will be a joint meeting with the board and Mat-Su Borough Assembly. Following the meeting will be a work session at 8:30 p.m. On Dec. 15, the board will have an executive session at 5 p.m., followed by its regular meeting at 6 p.m.
