The Quilts of Valor Foundation honored 25 veterans at the Alaska Veterans and Pioneer Home in Palmer on Patriots Day, Sept. 11. Colony High School JROTC Drill Team presented the colors. This was the third annual awards ceremony.

A sewing bee for Quilts of Valor is planned Sept. 18 to 20 at the VFW Post 9365 in Wasilla. Five more VFW member veterans will be honored at 2 p.m., Sept. 20.
