QUINN R. WHITHAM

Beloved son, brother, uncle and friend Quinn R. Whitham passed away on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003.

Mr. Whitham was born March 19, 1957, and spent his boyhood in the beauty of northwestern Montana trout fishing, hiking, camping and enjoying the great outdoors. After graduation from Libby High School, he trained to become a welder and worked as an ironworker during most of his adult life. He spent time in Washington, California and Hawaii before coming "home" to Alaska. In Alaska, he enjoyed fishing, riding snowmobiles, cooking up delicious meals for friends and admiring the view of the snow-covered mountain ranges beyond the lake.

His family said, "Quinn never knew a stranger, easily making friends wherever he traveled. He delighted in the company of a close group of life-long friends, who, along with his family, will find it terribly difficult to fill the enormous void that now exists. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the dear friends and neighbors who were so important to Quinn and became his Alaska 'family.' We love you, Quinn; your spirit will remain in our hearts forever!"

He was preceded in death by his brother Glenn. He is survived by his mother and her husband, Jung and Joe Trontvet of Anchorage; his sister and family, Linda, Tony, Lauren and Julia Whatley of Seattle; his brother's children Jesse and Jenny Whitham of Seattle; and his father and family, William Whitham of Fairbanks.

Memorial services celebrating Mr. Whitham's life will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday at Valley Funeral Home, 151 E. Herning Road, in Wasilla.

He enjoyed the companionship of many animals during his life, especially his dogs Bo and Brittany. Any remembrances may be made to The Humane Society or to a local animal shelter.
