Race organizers make good neighbors

To the editor:

I live next door to Northstar Speedway.

I have heard enough from those who claim that Northstar Speedway negatively impacts the area around it and the neighbors. Nothing could be further from the truth. If anyone would be negatively impacted it would be me, I live right next door. I’m not negatively impacted and having Northstar as a neighbor certainly would not “catapult” me into public office or stop me from pursuing anything I wanted to accomplish.

The people at Northstar are some of the friendliest you will meet, very family and kid orientated and one of the best neighbors I’ve ever had. (The Nunleys are the best.)

The 15 days or so they actually have races, my kids and I are usually at the races watching, but when we are not, the noise is not much worse than a neighbor with a noisy lawnmower and it usually does not last much longer than the time it takes to mow the lawn. A small price to pay for a good neighbor I say.

Usually people only write letters to the editor when they are upset about something. Rarely does anyone write about good things so I wanted to take the time to say to my good neighbors, all the folks at Northstar Speedway, thanks for bringing a little entertainment and fun to our area. Thanks for helping keep my kids safe from the extra traffic and giving them something different to do, and thanks for being so quiet about 350 days a yea. Bet everybody can’t say the same about their neighbors.
