MONTANA CREEK — Nine skijorers and 22 mushers braved snowing conditions during the Montana Creek Dog Mushers Association’s third points race of the season on Saturday in Montana Creek.
Christine Taveau finished 37 seconds ahead of second-place Egil Eillis to win the open class. Taveau logged a time of 31 minutes and 6 seconds.
Taveau was also second in the eight-dog race. Brenda Burge edged Taveau by six seconds in the race.
Kim Wells (four-dog), Ruthan Stitts (junior three-dog and junior one-dog) and Kris Rasey (six-dog) also won sled dog races on Saturday. Rebecca Knight was the top skijorer, with a time of 15:14 on the four-mile track.
