ROBERT DeBERRY/Frontiersman Racer and instructor Howard Bone smokes his Maza Miada tires as he negotiates a 180 degree turn during his run on Saturday. This is the Alaska ASCCA's fifth event of the 2009 summer solo racing championship season. Twenty racers turned out to race the clock and smoke their tires.

against the clock in different division depending on the type of
car they are using. Most drivers at Saturday's event were racing
their daily drivers. Some were heavily modified with turbo's,
exhaust modifications and engine hop-up parts while others only
swapped out street tires for racing tires.
