SITKA — Susitna Valley junior Marshall Pinard won his weight class during the Sitka Invitational Dec. 5 in Sitka.
Pinard finished 3-0 in the tournament, pinning his way to the title in the 285-pound class. In the championship finals, Pinard pinned Brayden Blandov of Metlekatla in the second round.
Pinard also pinned Hyadaburg’s Alex Peele in the first round and Mt. Edgecumbe’s Kobe Rutherford in the semifinals.
Pinard pushed his season record to 23-1.
