To the editor:
George Rauscher has always been there when someone in the Sutton community is in need. Whether gathering neighbors on very short notice to evacuate another neighbor and his belongings from their home that the river was undercutting, or photographing weddings for people who hadn’t enough money to hire a photographer.
He has volunteered to cut and deliver cords of fire wood for people around the community when they were out of money or down on their luck and also for people when they hurt their back and couldn’t cut it themselves.
His list of helping residents goes back decades. Never has he asked to be paid for these community services nor did he ever expect to be paid. He did it out of his sense of commitment to this community he has called home for the last 32 years.
Now we have an opportunity to ask George to be our assemblyperson. On Oct. 5, please consider what the candidates have done for our community and vote for George Rauscher. He cares!
