Wasilla resident Ray Myers died July 13, 2005, in an unfortunate vehicle accident.
Mr. Myers was born March 2, 1933, in Pennsylvania, where he grew up.
He lived in Florida for many years and became an accomplished scuba diver. He loved the ocean and instilled love and respect for it in his children.
Mr. Myers came to Alaska in 1986 to pursue his other love, gold prospecting. He enjoyed tramping around the mountains and streams of Alaska.
Mr. Myers is survived by his mother, a sister, one son and one daughter in Florida and one son in Alaska.
His family wrote, "He liked obscurity."
No local services are planned. Mr. Myers' ashes will be scattered in the wild places he loved.
