Ready to begin

In many ways, my wife and I are part of the typical American family.

We both work full time, and we have two children and a dog.

But we also a part of a demographic that’s becoming far too typical in our society.

We are among an estimated 34 percent of adults in the United States who are considered to be obese.

After spending much of our lives on the north side of chunky, it’s time we do something about it.

For the next three months, my wife, Amber, and I will participate in the Mat-Su Valley’s Trim to Win program. And while doing so, we will detail our experiences at www.frontiersman.com.

We’ll share our thoughts as we work to change our lifestyle through better habits, more exercise and a more appropriate diet.

We also welcome others participating to share your stories as you attempt to change your life as well.
