Reconnected with the Valley

To the editor:

Please allow me opportunity to write a thanks to you for my first issue of your paper after several years without it — and a thanks to my gift-giver Gary Brown, whom I have known since we both performed in “Lo and Behold” in the 1960s in Palmer under Midge Melandy. Glorious days of youthful zest!

Many of the residents of the Mat-Su have gone to sleep. Gratefully, at near 86, I have a measure of health and mind. The letter printed from June Tull got my mental secretary nudging me and I thought of her husband. Also, the Kiwanis minstrel show with which I was privileged to be the only female participant before its abandonment.

Oh, the joys of all those friends and neighbors! Hopefully (not selfishly I hope) they, too, recall me. And I do miss being at the fair incognito. I’m looking forward to the next issue.
