The Redington Huskies made the trip south to Seward for the region tournament, and headed home with the top prizes.
Redington swept the team titles during the Kachemak Conference Championships Saturday in Seward.
The Redington boys finished with 240.5 total points in the team standings. Nicholas Marchione led Redington, winning the 125-pound class. Mitchell Sizemore (112) and Thomas Swalling also advanced to the finals, and placed second. Ethan Shepard (103), Eben Caulkins (135), Hayden Kearney (140), Michael Marquez-Hopson (171), Ayden Bryne (189) and Triston Charley (215) finished third, and qualified for the Division II state tournament, which starts Dec. 20 at the Alaska Airlines Center in Anchorage.
The Redington girls won the team title with 166 total points.
Ashlynn Akers (100) and Nikayla Miller (185) finished first in their class and qualified for state. Katie Miller (126), Alejandra Roman (138), Josephine Granger (145), Ahna Morphis (152) and Joy Walker (165) were second for the Huskies.
The Kachemak champ in each weight class is the lone automatic qualifier for the girls state tournament.
Eli Banks led the Houston boys with a title at 130 pounds, and Terje McClurg also advanced to state by finishing second at 171.
Sophie Dickson (120) and Kimberly Tischner (235) won the weight class for the Houston girls and are headed to state.
