The Redington Huskies scored a pair of girls’ basketball wins in Kotzebue.
Lexi Seymore used 21 points to led Redington to 47-41 win over Kotzebue on Friday night. That was a night after Seymore poured in 23 during a 41-39 win on Thursday.
Marian Aperazak added a dozen on Friday. Abbie Fuller chipped in nine. Aperazak added nine on Thursday.
Houston boys top Nikiski
Houston scored a 59-37 win over rival Nikiski during the second day of the Craig Jung Kenai River Challenge Friday night at Kenai Central.
Cole Taylor hit four three-pointers and led the Hawks with 16 points. Kyle McLaughlin added 10. Houston opened the game on a 20-4 run. Host Kenai topped Houston 56-45 on Thursday. Cody Wyrick led Houston with 15. Taylor added 11.
In girls’ action, Kenai needed overtime to edge Houston 40-37 on Thursday. The Kards outscored the Hawks 6-3 during the extra period. Emily Bitler led Houston with 21 points and 14 rebounds. The Hawks suffered a 42-22 loss to Nikiski Friday. Denali Whitted scored six to lead the Hawks.
