The Redington Huskies used a big win over Kenai Central to shake up Alaska’s Division III football standings.

Quarterback Christian Ingraham tossed two touchdown passes and defensive back Cayden Ingraham grabbed a pair of interceptions to help lead Redington to a 20-6 victory over defending state champion Kenai Friday at Redington.

With the win, the Huskies jumped to 2-1 in conference play and into a tie with Homer for second place in the standings. The Huskies and Mariners meet Sept. 27 in Homer.

Christian Ingraham completed 10 of 17 passes for 162 yards and two touchdowns in the victory. Ingraham connected with Kaedon Saxton on a 71-yard scoring pass in the second quarter to help give the Huskies the 8-6 lead. He added an 11-yard touchdown pass to Ikaia Flores in the third quarter.

Michael Marquez-Hopson helped cement the win with a 10-yard touchdown run later in the third. Redington scored 20 unanswered points after Kenai took a 6-0 lead with a Sawyer Vann touchdown catch.

Houston improved to 2-2 in conference play with a 21-6 win at Kodiak. Hawks quarterback Blake Baskett rushed for three touchdowns in the win, including a 25-yarder with 2:19 left in the game.

Kodiak, which suffered a 52-0 nonconference loss to the Hawks in Houston in August, kept it close. Bears quarterback Robert Anderson scored on a 2-yard run with 4:46 left in regulation to cut Houston’s lead to 14-6.

Houston heads north to face the Barrow Whalers Sept. 28 at noon.

Barrow currently sits on top of the Division III standings with a 3-0 record.
