Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Christian Ingraham finished with more than 2,000 total yards and nearly 30 touchdowns as a senior. The Redington senior quarterback was recently recognized for his efforts.
Ingraham was named the Division III Offensive Player of the Year.
Ingraham threw for 1,243 passing yards with 13 touchdowns and only two interceptions. He also rushed for 1,085 yards and 16 scores. Ingraham averaged 155 passing yards and 135 rushing yards per game.
Ingraham was among a half-dozen Huskies who earned first-team all-state honors. Offensive tackle Justus Spaulding, offensive guard Zach Martel, wide receiver Kaedon Sexton, defensive back Jake Murdock and returner Kenai Espinda-Fuaoa were also named to the first team.
Murdock (wide receiver), Spaulding (defensive line), Martel (defensive line) and Espinda-Fuaoa (linebacker) were also named second-team honors along with tight end Ikaia Flores, running back Michael Marquez-Hopson, linebacker Finn Swalling and defensive back Cayden Ingraham.
Saxton (defensive back), Flores (utility player), center PJ Kranz, linebacker Triston Charley and punter Hayden Kearney were honorable mentions.
Redington’s Wade Schirack was named the assistant coach of the year.
Linebacker Gage Hawes was named first-team all-state for the Houston Hawks. Houston’s Terje McClurg (running back and linebacker), Elias Johnson (wide receiver and defensive back) and Aiden McDonnell were named to the second team on both offense and defense. Hawes was named second-team at offensive guard. Offensive tackle Anderson Nelson, defensive lineman Keegan Stemmons, kicker Lago Garcia-Lubrenras and punter Blake Baskett were also named to the second team.
Houston’s Greg Marano was an honorable mention at center, defensive line and long snapper. Baskett (quarterback) and guard Bryor Thayer were also honorable mentions.
Palmer wide receiver Reed Craner represented the Valley on the Division II All-State team. Palmer’s KJ Henry was named second-team all-state at wide receiver and defensive back. Quarterback Nolan Garner and linebacker Corbin Gerkin were named second-team for the Moose.
Craner, Henry, Garner and Gerkin were also named first-team All-Railbelt Conference.
Palmer’s Chandler Coman was named second-team all-conference at center and defensive line. Gerkin earned second-team honors at running back and Craner was second-team at defensive back. Wide receiver Logan Rolston, tackle Eli Finley and linebacker Jayden Hartman were also named to the second team for Palmer.
Ryan Mikkelsen (fullback and defensive line), Grayson McDowell (guard and linebacker), Peyton Crowley (tackle), Judah Smith (linebacker), Kemeul Rodriguez (defensive back) and Connor Zundel (defensive back) represented Wasilla on the second team.
Palmer’s Luke Sena (guard), and Wasilla’s Jimmy Lackey (wide receiver) and Noah Malone (center) were named honorable mentions.
Wide receiver Ridge Spencer, defensive lineman Eli Whitworth and kicker Johnny Figgins represented Colony on the Division I Cook Inlet Conference first team.
