PALMER — Register now to participate in this year’s Cardboard City fundraiser at the Alaska State Fairgrounds.
Family Promise Mat-Su’s annual Cardboard City event begins at 5 p.m., July 20 and continues through the night with music, contests and prizes, soup kitchen food, outreach information, homeless education, testimonials and a sleepover in cardboard boxes. The fundraiser ends at 8 a.m. July 21. Collect pledges and spend the night in a cardboard box at the fairgrounds for a good cause.

Here is this year’s schedule of events:
• 5 p.m., set up/decorate your boxes.
• 6 p.m., soup/bread line.
• 6 to 7 p.m., testimonials.
• 6 to 8 p.m., Wildcat Trio.
• 8 to 9 p.m., Julia and musician friends Alex and Grace.
• 9 p.m., box judging/prizes.
• Sing-a-longs.
• Coffee all night/sleep in boxes.
• 7 a.m., donuts and hot chocolate/coffee.
• 8 a.m., must be cleared off the fairgrounds.
