PALMER — A 29-year-old man convicted of sexually abusing a minor in 2004 was jailed again on Sunday, charged with sexually assaulting a 26-year-old man.

According to a press release from Alaska State Troopers, Qauarliak “Dominic” Manumik was found at a home in the Williwaw subdivision at 3:49 a.m.

The victim was taken to Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage for treatment. Asked if the man was also beaten up in addition to the sexual assault, AST spokeswoman Megan Peters on Monday said she was not sure.

“I can’t get into the full circumstances. I can tell you that he was certainly sexually assaulted though as the charge implies,” Peters said.

She said that by the time troopers arrived, Manumik went into custody without incident.

“He was compliant and asked for his attorney,” Peters said in an email.

She said that a cabdriver summonsed to the home was the first to report the incident. She said that both Manumik and the victim had been drinking that evening.

Manumik is listed as a sex offender in state databases. According to that listing, he was convicted in a Bethel court on June 29, 2005, of attempted sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree. The conduct that led to the conviction happened in October 2004.

In addition to the Bethel case, Manumik’s criminal record includes:

• A burglary, criminal mischief and theft case to which he pleaded guilty in an Emmonak court to theft in 2006.

• Also in 2006 in Emmonak, he pleaded guilty to failing to register as a sex offender.

• A case charged in a Bethel court in which he pleaded no contest to weapons misconduct.

• A domestic violence restraining order filed against him in 2008 in Emmonak.

His criminal history in the Valley starts with a criminal mischief chase — usually the charge used to prosecute someone for damaging property — in which he pleaded guilty in 2011, and a guilty plea to trespassing, also in 2011.

Earlier this year in October, he was charged with repeatedly failin g to keep his sex offender registration current. Still earlier in September, he was charged with being drunk on a premises licensed to sell alcohol.
