Remember that night

To the editor:

Long ago, in a far away country, one early spring evening, shepherds quietly tended their flocks. Their conversations likely centered around the great influx of people visiting Bethlehem, it was probably exciting to see so many new faces. Compared to the town, the hillside must have been peaceful and quiet. The tranquility of the scene was suddenly broken when celestial messengers sent from our heavenly father appeared to these humble souls to declare the birth of his eternal son. The quiet of the night was gone but the peace that has always accompanied our father’s message lived on ... just as it does today. I know these events happened, just as I know the sun rose this morning. Merry Christmas, and may the lord bless us all.
