Reporters should have solid facts before writing stories

To the editor:

One of your reporters, Andrew Wellner, recently wrote a story about a substitute teacher that was arrested on Thursday.

The headline chosen was, “Valley teacher wanted in Idaho.” I feel that the words Andrew chose were inflammatory and specifically designed to make a good headline without consideration for Tyler Fishback’s reputation. Tyler has not been convicted of anything yet and it’s possible that nothing happened. Your reporters should do a better job of getting solid facts before writing stories and be more respectful of people’s reputations.
