Rescuers search for Hatcher Pass crash site

PALMER — Dispatch received a report around 2 p.m., Saturday of a truck that went off the road near Mile 14, Hatcher Pass Road.

Two people were reportedly still inside the vehicle and emergency crews spent about two hours working to locate the accident scene.

LifeMed also responded to the area to assist with the search and rescue.

But about 4 p.m., June 14 emergency responders turned the scene over to Alaska State Troopers after failing to locate any sign of the reported accident.

Trooper spokesperson Beth Ipsen said the search was determined to be "unfounded."
