The Anchorage Economic Development Corp. recently updated AnchorageProspector.com, an online research tool that identifies demographics and key infrastructure information for areas of Anchorage, Kenai Peninsula and the Mat-Su Borough.
The free website gathers economic, planning, infrastructure, geographic and demographic information often sought by businesses looking to relocate to, or expand in, a community. A new partnership with Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority and the Alaska Multiple Listing Service has expanded the site’s offerings to include all commercial properties listed on MLS and added enhanced search and reporting features.
Developed with site selectors in mind, the website allows anyone to easily find information on Anchorage’s broadband coverage, bus routes, recreational trails and concentration of businesses. It combines that data with demographics such as income level and education for city neighborhoods, blocks, regions or the entire city. Users pinpoint the area on a map they are interested in and can easily identify if it’s a right fit for their business and if any commercial property is available.
AEDC is hosting a webinar at 10 a.m., Tuesday to demonstrate the new features and walk users through the basics of the website. Registration is available at AEDCWeb.com.
