JUNEAU — The loss of first-team All-Railbelt Conference quarterback Phillip Fenumiai to injury left a big hole in the Juneau-Douglas Crimson Bears offense. But reserve Dorian Isaak had no problem filling the void.
Isaak threw six touchdown passes to lead the Crimson Bears to a 69-30 win over the Wasilla Warriors in Juneau Saturday.
The game marked the second straight high-scoring meeting of the Railbelt Conference rivals. Wasilla beat Juneau 55-33 at WHS last year. Isaak threw multiple touchdown passes to both Brian Brassfield and Aquino Brinson during the win.
Demetrius Campos and Gary Speck had touchdown runs for Juneau.
Brinson hauled in an 18-yard touchdown pass to give the Bears an early lead 8-0 lead.
Wasilla quickly tied the score. Ben Fielder connected with Kyle Cox on a touchdown catch, and the Warriors made the 2-point conversion to tie the score at 8.
But Juneau found the end zone four more times in the first half to take a 34-14 lead with 34 seconds before the break.
Cash McGregor returned a long kickoff for a touchdown with 23 seconds remaining in the second quarter to cut the Juneau lead to 34-22.
Quace Wright added a touchdown late in the game for the Warriors. Complete scoring and statistics were not available as of press time.
