I don’t understand why they discriminate against retired military at the Wasilla home show. I spoke to an assistant manager and the manager last year about this. I suggested that if retired military could not get in free, then everybody should pay except ages 12 and younger. Guess I wasted my time. As stated in the show’s ad: free admission for active military, age 65+, age 12 and under, five cans of food.
Active military can spend up to four years depending on which branch of service they were in and get out. I served 20 years and 10 days.
In 1964-65, I was part of an expeditionary force, living part of that in the jungle. I was eventually air vacated to Clark Air Force Base Hospital, Philippines.
Ever eat potato salad made from powered potatoes and power eggs? You should try it. The food was so bad that I would rather eat K-rations left over from World War II and the Korean War. I am way older than 65 and could get in free, but won’t go this year as a matter of principle.
The recent sportsman’s show in the same location allowed retired military in free. I did my time in the barrel, so what does the home show manager have against retired military?
