Wasilla resident Rick F. Daigle, 53, passed away unexpectedly March 28, 2011, at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center in Palmer.

Rick was born April 18, 1957, in Minneapolis, Minn., the son of Frank and Margaret (Peterson) Daigle.

A memorial service gathering in honor of Rick will be held at noon, April 10, at the Grouse Ridge shooting range with family and friends.

Rick lived in Alaska for more 20 years and worked in the construction business. He owned and operated his own company in the Wasilla area.

“He had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting in our great state of Alaska,” his family wrote. “He really felt his family was important and enjoyed spending many hours with them, and his children — Margaret, Markie and Mitchell — were the love of his life and they will remember fondly the times they shared with their dad. His wife, Rhonda, will always cherish the time they shared together as a family. Rick will be remembered as a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend who touched many lives during his life’s journey and will be greatly missed by all.”

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda; children, Margaret, Markie and Mitchell, all of Wasilla; parents, Frank and Margaret Daigle of Minnesota; sisters,

Robin and her husband Gary Harms, Roxanne and her husband Jerry Zachman, and Franki Daigle, all of Minnesota; and brother, Rod Daigle, also of Minnesota.

He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family was cared for by Valley Funeral Home and Crematory in Wasilla.
