Construction work on the Seward Meridian Parkway continues even as the days grow shorter and the temperatures start to dip.
This weekend, the Seward Meridian Parkway will be closed this weekend to vehicles, pedestrians, and bikes, starting Friday, October 11 at 9 p.m.
The closure affects Seward Meridian, just south of Bogard Road, between Palmdale Drive and Cottonwood Way while crews install a temporary diversion of Cottonwood Creek in preparation for construction of a new bridge.
The roadway is set to re-open Monday, October 14 at 4 a.m. ahead of the morning commute.
Starting Friday night, the Seven Mile Canoe Trail will also close until bridge construction is complete in the fall of next year.
