WASILLA — The Wasilla Road Warriors enjoyed a four-game American Legion sweep in Kodiak last weekend, and Taylon Ottinger provided the exclamation mark.
Ottinger tossed a five-inning no hitter to lead the road Warriors to a 13-0 win over Kodiak Sunday. Ottinger fanned five in the game. He also provided two hits at the plate. Calvin Stoll led the Warriors with five RBI.
Wasilla started the four-game trip with an 18-1 on Friday, and followed with a doubleheader sweep. The Warriors beat the Bears 8-2 and 9-5 on Saturday.
With the wins, Wasilla improved to 12-1 overall and 8-0 in league play. The Warriors boast the best record in Alaska American Legion baseball.
Clayton Boyett drove in seven runs during the series-opener, the 18-1 victory. Boyett also scored five times, and was one of five Road Warriors to drive in multiple runs.
Boyett, Graham and Stoll drove in two runs each during the 8-2 victory. Ottinger, Payne and Stoll had two RBI each in the 9-5 win.
