WASILLA — Austin Robertson tossed a two-hit shutout to lead the Wasilla Road Warriors to an 11-0 win over the Palmer Pioneers Tuesday at Wasilla High School.
Jeffrey Forester and Kendell Ruta drove in two runs each for the Warriors, who beat Palmer for the second time in four days. Cyrus Lovell led Wasilla with three runs. Forester also scored twice.
Kolten Ketchum and James Nelson had the hits for Palmer.
Saturday, a consistent effort at the plate drove Wasilla to an American Legion win over the Pioneers. The Road Warriors scored at least two runs in each of the five innings, and posted a 13-3 victory over the Pioneers at Wasilla High School.
Ben Werner and Cyrus Lovell drove in two runs each for Wasilla. Werner, Hank Boyer, Bryce Frazier and Kyle Graham scored twice each. Jeffrey Forester and Clancey O’Donnell also drove in runs.
All of Wasilla’s runs came unanswered after the Pioneers took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first. James Nelson, Kolten Ketchem and Eli Smith each scored early for Palmer. Ben Alley drove in two runs.
Wasilla hosts Kenai in a doubleheader Wednesday slated to start at noon at Wasilla High School.
