The Wasilla Road Warriors took a trip north and brought home a trophy.
Wasilla used an 11-7 win over North Pole in the championship game to win the Midnight Sun Tournament Saturday in American Legion baseball action in Fairbanks.
Ty Dudley finished with three hits, doubled twice and drove in three runs to lead the Road Warriors. Andre Brown also had three hits, scored twice and drove in a run. Pedro Camacho and Nolan Murphy scored three times each.
Wasilla trailed 4-2 early, but jumped ahead with four-run fourth and capped the game with four more runs in the seventh.
Wasilla also bounced back from a tough loss to North Pole early in the tournament. North Pole opened the tourney with a 6-5 walk-off win over the Road Warriors.
Wasilla also beat Fairbanks and West Anchorage in the tourney.
The Road Warriors scored six runs in the eighth to earn an 11-5 extra-inning win over Fairbanks. The first seven hitters in the order scored a run, and four Warriors scored twice.
The Road Warriors also blanked West 10-0. Dudley, Murphy and Camacho scored twice.
The Palmer Pioneers scored a big sweep of the Dimond Lynx June 19 at Hermon Brothers Field in Palmer.
Ben Alley threw a complete game, allowing only three hits, to lead Palmer to a 4-2 league win over Dimond. Brayden Methven finished with a run and an RBI. Alley, Adam Smithers and Kaden Ketchum also scored.
The Pioneers beat Dimond 11-1 in nonleague play. Drake Gallagher drove in three runs. Landon Guggenmos had two runs and two RBI. Bryant Marks scored three times. Ketchum and Dylan Garrettson added two runs each.
