Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Wasilla resident, Robert "Bobby" Galvan, 20, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002. He was born in Anchorage on April 11, 1982. He graduated from Colony High School in 2000 and attended DeVry University in Arizona.
Mr. Galvan is remembered by family and friends as big-hearted and loving. He laughed and made those around him laugh even more. He enjoyed wrestling, football, hockey, jet-skiing, snowmachining, four-wheeling, working on his tough truck, computer games and watching "Law and Order."
His family said, "Bobby was selfless and always willing to help someone in need. He got along well with everyone he met. Bobby loved his family and especially loved helping and spending time with his mom. He was loved by all hew knew him and will be greatly missed."
The funeral will be today, Nov. 15, at 11 a.m. at Valley Baptist Tabernacle on the Palmer-Wasilla Highway. A visitation will take place at 10 a.m. and burial will be at 2 p.m. at Anchorage Memorial Park.
He is survived by mother JoAnne Mignano of Meadow Lakes; father Jerry Mignano of Wasilla; sisters Maria Galvan and Christie Mignano of Meadow Lakes; biological father Robert W. Galvan of Anchorage; grandparents Evelyn Jones of Anchorage, Ruben and Carol Galvan of Tacoma, Wash., Margaret VanHorn of Rainer, Wash., Carol Mignano of Cherry Hill, N.J.; uncles Herbert Ritter and Dan Ritter, both of Anchorage; aunts Gloria Sheehan of Anchorage, Carol Ritter-Ryan of Anchorage, Susie Prosser-Cummins of Arizona, Connie Edson of Eagle River; many cousins; and best friends Cole Saunders of Big Lake, and Josh Kirkland of Big Lake.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather Allen Prosser of Anchorage.
