Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Lifelong Alaskan and former Wasilla resident Robert Jesse Olivera passed away Feb. 14, 2008, in his sleep at home in Anchorage. He was 25.
A public visitation in celebration of Robert’s life will begin at 1:30 p.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wasilla. Services will begin at 2:30 p.m. with reception to follow.
Born May 5, 1982, in Anchorage, he attended Wasilla High School and Holy Family Church. He lived briefly in Colorado and worked as a cook.
Robert enjoyed visiting with friends, music, watching football, snowboarding and traveling. He was a great brother and friend, and the family has to many memories to list. He will be sorely missed.
Robert is survived by his parents, Tony and Ronalda Olivera; brothers, Ryan, Shawn and Christopher; sisters, Amariah Olivera and Renee Gallagher; grandparents Marlene Shanigan and Roy Matsuno; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
