Anchorage resident Robert Marvin Crothers, 58, died at Providence Alaska Medical Center of natural causes on Jan. 7, 2005. Masonic services will take place at 6 p.m., Saturday, at 1431 Eagle St.
Mr. Crothers was born May 1, 1946, in Hamilton, Ohio. He spent 25 years in the U.S. Air Force before he retired in 1990. He moved to Alaska, becoming a resident from 1971-1973 and then again from 1984 until his death.
Mr. Crothers was a member of the Masonic Glacier Lodge #10, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, York Rite and Shrine. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, gunsmithing and square dances.
His family requests that any memorial donations made in his name be sent to Scottish Rite Language Foundation, P.O. Box 101445, Anchorage, AK 99510 or the Shrine Children Travel Fund, c/o Al-Aska Shrine, 1931 East Northern Lights Blvd., Anchorage, AK 99508.
Mr. Crothers is survived by his wife, Iris Crothers; daughters, Rhonda Ziegler and Brenda Meade; son, Matt Crothers; mother, Beulah Mae Crothers; grandchildren, David and Rebecca Ziegler, Rianni, Seoquia, Nicholasis and "Little" Matthew Crothers, and Tyler and Shawn Meade. Arrangements were provided by Witzleben Family Funeral Home.
