We are sad to announce the death of Palmer resident
Rodney S. Whitstine, 35 who died on Jan. 20th, 2023 in
Anchorage, Alaska
His family wrote "Rodney was kind-hearted and funny. He
was always willing to lend a hand or ready to come along for
an adventure. He was a great friend, a loving brother to his
siblings and loved his nieces and nephews dearly.”
Rodney had a love for motors and spent many of his
childhood weekends at the Valley Raceway Park where he
enjoyed racing dragsters and watching friends and family
race. He enjoyed riding dirt bikes and four wheelers around
the Butte, Jim creek and various other trail hunting trips. He
enjoyed the outdoors with activities such as bicycling,
boating and hiking to include many trips up the Butte. He
was an excellent cross-country runner in High School. He
was always up for a camping trip with family. Rodney also
enjoyed working with his hands and had various jobs in the
construction industry,
He is preceded in death by his parents; Thomas Whitstine Sr.
and Helena Whitstine of Palmer and brother Wesley
Whitstine of Palmer. He is survived by his sister Amy-Ashing
and family of Palmer, brother Steven Whitstine of
Anchorage, sister Stacey Whitstine and family of Palmer,
brother Thomas Whitstine Jr. and family of Wasilla, Jeff
Whitstine and family of Palmer and other extended relatives
of Palmer.
