PALMER — Local musician Roland Roberts recently performed at the Palmer Alehouse in the upstairs lounge as one of the last acts in the venue's winter concert series: Palmer Alehouse Unplugged.
"It's one of my favorite rooms to play," Roberts said.
Roberts said that he's enjoyed being part of the Palmer Alehouse musical ensemble. He said it's an important venue that promotes local artists throughout the year.
"It keeps the community engaged," Roberts said.
Roberts said that his musical career has been going very well thanks to his band mates of The Roland Roberts Band and various Alaskan musicians he's interacted with over the years. He said his schedule will be full of gigs and exciting opportunities across the state.
"I'm just really over the moon with how things are going," Roberts said. "We've got really big things on the horizon this spring."
Roberts marveled at the sheer amount of support and inspiration that he's been able to get from the Alaskan music scene.
"I just love how supportive it is," Roberts said. "I've learned a lot from my fellow musicians up here. It's like one big happy family. It feels like I know someone everywhere I go."
